With a whole New Year ahead, we all get the chance to start something new and leave the old behind. Why is it that most of us fear New Beginnings? or find excuses why not to make a change?

Is it fear of the unknown? Is it because implementing a change into our daily routines is hard work? Maybe because we do not feel strong or confident enough to make the first step?

When In truth moving towards that new beginning can be potentially exciting; at the same time even life changing…

 

 

 

When I learnt to let go of the old and embrace new beginnings, change became a natural process for me. It took a good amount of practice, reprogramming my thought process, asking the right questions, as well as searching for the answers that would make sense to me.

After a few fearful experiences, I started questioning what it was that I was so afraid of. Such a simple and straightforward question should require rather simple and straightforward answer, right?! Well it was not as simple as it looked at first.

Even adding exercise, include walks, into my daily routines seemed to be quite challenging at the time. I was not going to give up! I knew there were benefits to it and that I was going to make a positive change by introducing something new into my daily routine and lifestyle.

 

 

Even today I meet many people, mainly women, who would love to join the gym and start going on regular basis. Yet, they often do not want to go by themselves. I must admit that at some point I used to feel and think the same way. I understand the reasons behind it…A problem shared is a problem halved. However, believe me, if you keep waiting for someone else to hold your hand and do something with you, then you might be waiting for quite a long time; many may never start at all.

The power lies within yourself! And that is a Fact!

You are the one who is in charge of your time, your body, and your mind. You may be surrounded by important family and friends but ultimately your life is your own journey. If you do not make the most of it whilst you can, before you know it, it can be gone.

One thing I want you to remember, is to prioritise the care of your own body, mind, and at the same time of your soul. It is ok to take some time in the day just for yourself. No matter the time length, we are all different, you must understand the amount you need for yourself. Once you do, include this new habit into your daily lifestyle. You will be surprised how much your enjoyment of life will shift. Your relationships will become more settled and enjoyable. You will see your performance at work change for the better. Most importantly, however, you will find a peaceful balance within yourself.

I encourage you to look at your life and reflect on how you are managing your own journey right now? Take the time for needed, for yourself, to move away from the known environment you are in. Go somewhere where you have not been before; whether that be physically, emotionally, or spiritually.

When you have done that, do yourself a favour…be completely honest! Ask yourself a simple, and at the same time, the hardest question anyone can ask themselves: “Am I Happy?”

 

… If the answer is Yes, well done! This means that you have found the right balance on your life journey.

If you HESITATED answering or the answer was anything but a yes ,then perhaps it is time to have a think…

Maybe it is time for a little bit of a change? Maybe some of those changes will include a completely new beginning or a few new beginnings that can help you move from where you are to where you would like to be. I can tell you that finding the right balance and peace from within is the key to living a life to the fullest potential in the present moment. No matter where you are, what you do, or who’s around you…you need to feel the power of your existence in each moment.

So, What are you going to do?

Will you keep waiting for others? or will you get up, go, and do what you’ve been wanting to do for so long? Are you ready to face your fears? Are you ready to become stronger than them or let them control you and your life?
